alsTy Herndon, Amber Hayes Help Former Alabama/NFL Player Kevin Turner Raise $100,000 at Nashville ALS Fundraiser Event

(Nashville, TN – June 20, 2011) Country artists Ty Herndon and Amber Hayes were on hand this past weekend to help former Alabama and NFL player Kevin Turner raise just over $100,000 at a private Nashville ALS fundraiser event.

Held Saturday, June 18, at a private estate in Brentwood, Tenn., the fundraiser was attended by more than 250 people, including numerous current and former Alabama and NFL players and coaches. Herndon and FUNL Music label mate Amber Hayes performed at the event, which included two auctions featuring collectible sports memorabilia and jewelry, a cigar tent, food, drinks and appearances by current Clemson coach and former Alabama receiver Dabo Swinney and legendary Alabama coach Gene Stallings, among others. Herndon’s Grammy-nominated “Journey On” project is the official song and video of the Kevin Turner Foundation.
Turner, who played professional football for eight seasons in the ‘90s with the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots, was diagnosed with ALS in May 2010. In October 2010, the Prattville, Ala., native formed the nonprofit Kevin Turner Foundation to help raise awareness and money for critical ALS research and the emerging connection between ALS and concussions. The $100,000 raised at this weekend’s event benefits the Kevin Turner Foundation.

CowgirlsCast400Amber Hayes has landed her first movie role in Cowgirls N’ Angels due out in 2012. The FUNL Music recording artist has extensive theater experience, including a leading role as Kathy Twitty in the 2008 critically acclaimed Conway Twitty musical It’s Only Make Believe, but this will be her first appearance on the silver screen. Hayes appropriately plays a supporting role as honky tonk singer Amber Grant and two of her original songs, “C’mon” and “Right as Rain,” from her 2010 EP release C’mon will be included in the movie and its soundtrack.

“I’m really grateful to the cast, crew and director Timothy Armstrong for including me and my music in the film,” says Hayes. “I had a wonderful time trying my hand at something new. I’m so excited to see the finished movie next year!”

Hayes’ current single, “Wait,” continues to climb Country radio charts, with the song’s music video receiving airplay at The Country Network, GACTV.com and Yallwire.com. She has been touring with FUNL Music label mate Ty Herndon in recent weeks.

Co-written by Armstrong and Stephen Blinn, Cowgirls N’ Angels is the coming-of-age story of Ida Clayton (played by Bailee Madison), a rebellious young girl in search of her rodeo-riding father. While searching for her dad, she connects with the Sweethearts of the Rodeo, a team of young female rodeo riders run by former rodeo star Terence Parker. Recognizing Ida’s innate talent for trick riding, Terence recruits her for their ranks. Accepted wholeheartedly by her new “family,” Ida finds a new passion that redefines her life — and she also may find the father she’s been searching for.

Produced by Ben Feingold, Sweethearts LLC and Sense and Sensibility Ventures LLC, Cowgirls N’ Angels is expected to wrap production this week in Oklahoma. The film was shot in several cities and communities across the state, including Stillwater, Guthrie, Pawnee and Oklahoma City, which is only 90 miles from Hayes’ hometown of Weleetka, Oklahoma.

waitvideocrew300Video shot by three-time CMT Director of the Year Steven Goldmann
(Nashville, Tenn. – May 11, 2011) FUNL Music recording artist Amber Hayes is debuting the music video for her current single, “Wait,” this Friday, May 13, at 9 a.m. CDT as an exclusive world premiere on Yallwire.com.

Shot and directed by award-winning film and music video producer/director Steven Goldmann (Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins, Martina McBride), Hayes traveled from Nashville to Los Angeles to film the video in Simi Valley during an extended weekend in April.

“The first time I saw Amber perform, I knew I wanted to work with her,” says three-time CMT Director of the Year Goldmann. “I just felt like I was seeing someone special up on stage. Her talent, work ethic and laid-back personality made working on this video with her a real pleasure, and I’m so glad we got a chance to do it. Amber is a rare talent in this business.”

Yallwire.com subscribers will also receive exclusive, behind-the-scenes photos and video from Hayes’ “Wait” video shoot.

“It was such an honor to have had an opportunity to work with director Steven Goldmann,” says Hayes. “I realize now that most of my favorite videos were actually directed by him, so needless to say, I feel extremely blessed and fortunate that he wanted to be involved in my video for ‘Wait.’”

“Wait” is the second single released off of Hayes’ 2010 debut, C’mon. The six-track EP has already produced one Top 40 single on the Music Row chart with its title track, and “Wait” is currently approaching Top 40 status as well. The Oklahoma native has earned high praise from critics for her ability to integrate traditional-style Country music with contemporary, radio-friendly appeal.
